The Toyota Highlander is Fully Redesigned for Power and Style

The Highlander is known for its comfortable ride, three rows of seats, and a high level of predicted reliability. And with a redesign to kick off a fourth production cycle, the Highlander intends to never rest on its laurels. The latest Highlander is split into L, LE, XLE, Limited, and Platinum. There's a Highlander model in our new inventory for every Hackensack, NJ driver. You're sure to love test-driving this model here at Parkway Toyota.

Under the hood of the Toyota Highlander is a 3.5-liter V6 engine, which produces 295 horsepower and 263 pound-feet of torque. It is pinned to an eight-speed automatic transmission, and front-wheel-drive is standard for peak fuel economy of 21 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. There is an all-wheel drivetrain available, though, for optimal all-weather driving performance. Based on its powertrain configuration, the Highlander can tow up to 5,000 pounds around Paramus, NJ.

Seating Accommodations

Inside the Toyota Highlander are three rows of seats that can accommodate up to eight people. Front seating consists of an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat and a four-way manually adjustable passenger seat, and both the second and third rows of seats can be folded down to expand the cargo room. At the LE trim level, the Highlander is upgraded with a leather-wrapped steering wheel for added style around Fort Lee, NJ.

Front-seat heating, driver-side 10-way power-adjustability with power lumbar support, four-way power adjustability on the front passenger seat, front-seat heating, and SofTex seat material appears at the XLE level. A more luxurious aura awaits you in the Limited, which is upgraded with leather seat trim, front-seat ventilation, driver-seat memory function, and steering-wheel heating. Only the Platinum has seven-passenger seating due to a pair of heated captain's seats instead of a bench-style seat.

Comfort and Convenience

For comfort and convenience, the new Toyota Highlander comes with features such as three-zone automatic climate control, a 4.2-inch color LCD multi-information display, a smart key system with push-button engine start, a Wi-Fi hotspot, five USB ports and an audio jack, a six-speaker stereo system, Entune multimedia integration, AM/FM radio, Bluetooth wireless technology, Amazon Alexa connectivity, three months of SiriusXM Radio service, and an eight-inch touchscreen.

HD Radio and 10 years of Service Connect and a year of Remote Connect services are added at the LE trim level. The XLE is enhanced with a seven-inch color LCD multi-information display (instead of the 4.2-inch), auto-dimming ability on the rearview mirror, and a universal transceiver for remote-controlling garage doors around North Bergen, NJ. The Limited gets a Driver Easy Speak PA system, dynamic point-of-interest search technology, a navigation system, a one-year trial of Destination Assist, and an 11-speaker JBL stereo system. Only the Limited has a 10-inch head-up display and 12.3-inch touchscreen navigation.

Safety and Security

Most of the new Toyota Highlander's base-level safety features are grouped into two suites. Toyota Safety Sense P, or TSS-P, combines a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, automatic high beams, and dynamic radar cruise control. And Star Safety System consists of electronically controlled braking, vehicle stability control, and traction control systems, smart stop technology, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with electronic brake-force distribution, and brake assist. You'll always feel safe around Tenafly, NJ.

Other standard safety features include eight airbags, a year of Safety Connect services, hill start assist control, downhill assist control, a rearview camera, engine immobilization as a theft-deterrence mechanism, and the ToyotaCare no-cost maintenance plan. A panic alarm for further theft deterrence, as well as a blind-spot monitor system with rear cross-traffic alert, is added at the LE trim level. Front and rear parking assist with automated braking appears on the Limited. And only the Platinum has a 360-degree camera in place of the rearview one.
